QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST at Berry Plastics in Fremont, IN

Responsibilities The QA Analyst reports to the QA / Department Manager. In performing the responsibilities of resin management and parts inspection, employees are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement. KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Begin each shift by conducting a thorough walk-through of each department to access the overall status of plant quality. Provide the Quality Control Manager with information concerning accuracy and completeness of quality control documents in all plant departments, such as:
1st Shot Verification Sheets, X Bar R Charts, Calculated Dye Pump Setting Sheets, and Quality Monitor / Attribute Charts. Assist the Quality Control Manager with the Quality Department document filing and retention programs. Oversee the Product Hold area documenting applicable information and with the assistance of Production, insuring product is promptly sorted / reworked. Assist the Quality Control Manager in managing the overall plant resin program. Monitor plant quality processes to confirm they are being handled promptly and properly. Notify the Quality Control Manager of any deviations and assist with corrective actions. Manage department X Bar R Charts and 1st Shot Sample programs. Conduct capability studies as required and identify capability deficiencies. Customer samples - Evaluate attributes / test performance / confirm dimensions of sample parts for Production Support. Quality must approve parts prior to shipment. Conduct Mold Concentricity inspections and documentation. Complete all Certificates of Analysis as required. Assist the Quality Control Manager in identifying quality deficiency trends and in finding solutions to improve plant quality standards. Assist with incoming inspections and dock audits as necessary. Compile and report data on Quality Control scrap to the Assistant Plant Manager / General Supervisor. Assist the Quality Control Manager with the processing of any required Deviation Requests. Posses good math, computer, communication and organizational skills, and be detail-oriented. Proficient with ISO9001. Skilled in the use of measuring devices, such as height gages and calipers. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Excellent mathematics and problem-solving skills. Technical background and/or experience in QA. Prefer one to five years related experience. SPC, DOE, and/or statistics knowledge. KEY BEHAVIORAL TRAITS FOR SUCCESS Detail-oriented, good communication and math skills, and dependability will contribute to success in this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to demonstrate sound judgment regarding work priorities and problem solving.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Quality AssuranceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
