Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Western Consolidated Technologies currently has an immediate opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Associate. Successful candidates will be self-starters, reliable, dependable, well-organized, demonstrate on time attendance, and can work assigned hours and overtime as needed.

General Description:

The Shipping and Receiving Associate occupies a key function within WCT and is responsible for the accurate and timely receiving of inbound materials, cycle counting, receiving inspections, packing, small package shipping. This includes both close internal communications with purchasing, traffic, sales and customer service.



  • Maintain and contribute to a safe and productive working environment.

  • Perform cycle counts and other inventory controls and report discrepancies.

  • Perform inbound quality inspections, (e.g. inspecting for damaged freight/deliveries).

  • Coordinate inventory reconciliation of internal and outsourced job orders.

  • Pick and package products for shipping.

  • Small package shipping.

  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.

  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment.

  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Any other duties, as necessary, for example, picking orders, light assembly work as needed.

  • Arrange for a carrier pick-up.

  • Produce required paperwork for shipments, (e.g. BOL, Certifications, Packing Slips, etc....).



  • Experience In shipping/receiving.

  • Forklift experience.

  • Must be at least 18.

  • Must be able to effectively read, write legibly, count, simple math and understand instructions, warnings, labels, and postings in English.

  • Excellent organizational, customer service, administrative and time-management skills, and attention to detail.

  • Solid working knowledge of business computer applications (BPCS, Access, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Ability to learn and operate Company systems effectively.

  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, accept new ideas and input positively, and be open to new work approaches and processes.

  • Knowledge of Company's products or industry is a plus.

  • Must consistently demonstrate dependability, a great work ethic, initiative, ownership of issues, problem-solving abilities, and an exceptional attitude.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.

  • Must be self-motivated.

  • Able to handle fast-paced work.

  • Must have the capacity to work well with others and be able to work independently.

  • Bar coding, labeling machines, and familiarity with scales.

  • Experience using Fed X, and UPS software, and Customs paperwork for Domestic and Foreign shipments.

  • Forklift, reach-truck, and computer experience highly preferred.

  • Prior inbound receiving and warehouse experience highly preferred.

Pay Range:

  • Based on your experience and skill level.


  • receiving and shipping: 3+ year (Required).


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Reports to:

  • Inside Sales/Customer Service Manager.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
